Well it was the most miserable, wet, windy, (did I mention wet?), horrid night to switch the Christmas tree lights on.
Did it bother the people of Auldearn? ….. not a jot.
You turned out in droves, as ever…. in spite of the elements.
We had carol singers, lights were switched on by Mr & Mrs Philip, from Kinnudie Farm, who have given tremendous support to the village and projects in and around it , over the years.
There was mulled wine, hot food, juice, chocolates … & Santa too…Though Santa was sensible, and stayed in his Grotto, with his helpful elfs.
Thanks are due to:
Auldearn village shop for helping out with supplying soft drinks and chocolates.
Doug from the Covenanters , for his assistance with the food and his annual, decidedly, not soft mulled wine.
Santa, his elfs and helpers, from Auldearn Nursery.
The munchkins from the Highland Council, for putting the lights up, and helping to turn them on.
Lethen Estate, for supplying the most wonderful Christmas tree, and putting it in place for us
The carol singers, and everyone who came along to help put up, take down and do all the unseen things , that makes these events happen.
Most of all , to the people of the village of Auldearn, for going way beyond what could have been expected of anyone , on such a dreadful evening…and coming out to take part.
Thank you all…and a very Happy Christmas from Auldearn Community Council
